Vision:Culture belongs to humanity · Literature belongs to the world
The World Literature Union (WLU), founded by the renowned Chinese writer Xuemo (Chen Kaihong) and registered in Hong Kong, is a non-governmental, non-profit international cultural organization that advances dialogue between East and West through literature. The Union brings together writers, translators, scholars, critics, and publishers from around the world to promote academic research, literary criticism, and international cultural exchange centered on the core themes of World Literature and Chinese Civilization.
We will continue to explore and promote worldwide the literary and philosophical contributions of Xuemo, advancing scholarly interpretation, translation and publication, and cross-cultural dissemination of his works, and fostering dialogue and mutual learning between compelling Chinese stories and the shared spirit of humankind.

Xuemo World Literature Forum
Initiated by the World Literature Union, the Xuemo World Literature Forum is a permanent international dialogue platform hosted at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
Grounded in the Eastern wisdom and shared human emotions embodied in Xuemo’s works, the Forum each year focuses on several topics of common concern to the global literary community—such as narrative ethics, writing from the margins, and tradition and modernity—and provides an open space for in-depth exchange among writers, scholars, and publishers. Here, creators from diverse civilizations transcend boundaries of region and language to share insights on how literature responds to the questions of our time, to spark inspiration, and to explore how the power of story connects people—heart to heart.
Invited scholars receive full travel and accommodation support to participate in high-level conversations across disciplines, languages, and civilizations.
